We do not use cookies for statistics, marketing or tracking, and we do not share anything with advertisers. That is why you are not asked to accept cookies. What the site does store in your browser is only what it needs to work:
The site is hosted by Simply.com in Denmark. Like every web server, theirs keeps a short technical log of requests: IP address, time, the page asked for and the type of browser. It is used to keep the site running and secure, and it is deleted again after a limited period. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a working and secure website (GDPR article 6(1)(f)).
The typeface is loaded from Cargo's font server (type.cargo.site), so your browser tells Cargo your IP address when a page opens. The two films about Søfarer are hosted on Vimeo. Vimeo's player only loads when you press play, and it is set not to track you. Links to Instagram only take you there if you click them.
Flora is an AI assistant. When you write to her, your messages and the page you are on are sent from our server to Anthropic, the company behind the Claude model that writes her answers. Anthropic handles them on our behalf, does not use them to train its models, and keeps them only for a limited period under its commercial terms. Anthropic is based in the United States, so the data leaves the EU; the transfer is covered by the EU's standard contractual clauses.
We do not save the conversations on our server. To stop the chat from being overused, we count how many answers each visitor gets per day, using a scrambled version of the IP address that cannot be turned back into it. The count is reset every day.
If you ask Flora to put you in touch, the conversation is sent by email to Eva or Jeppe together with the name, contact details, organisation and topic you give. It waits on our server until you are done, at the most a quarter of an hour, and may also be passed on internally as a message to us. We keep a short log of who asked to be contacted (name, contact details and topic) for up to 12 months, so we can check that nothing got lost. The legal basis is your request to be contacted (article 6(1)(b)).
Please do not write anything sensitive to Flora, such as health information.
When you write or call, we use what you tell us to answer you and to work together. We keep the correspondence for as long as it is relevant to the conversation or the project. If it becomes an assignment, invoices and accounting records are kept for five years, as Danish bookkeeping law requires.
You can ask to see the data we have about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. You can also object to our use of it, ask us to limit it, or ask for a copy to take elsewhere. Write to jeppe@kinnstudio.dk.
If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency, datatilsynet.dk.
